Business Roundtable - special Tax Season Update
ENTERPRISE ZONE BUSINESS BENEFITS
The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and the Urban Enterprise Association Board will host a joint Business Roundtable to provide an overview on the Urban Enterprise Zone (EZ) benefits that may be available to businesses registered within the city of Connersville's EZ boundaries.
During this session, Steve Kiefer CPA, with Kemper CPA Group, will provide an overview of the Urban Enterprise Zone and the guidelines under which zone benefits can be used for year 2017. Some of the EZ benefits include: Employee Wage Deduction, Employment Expense Credit, and Property Tax Investment Deduction. To claim a potential zone benefit, your business must file the required zone forms, which are based on the type of entity claiming the benefit.
An Urban Enterprise Zone is an area that encourages development, or redevelopment in parts of the city in which economic growth might not otherwise occur. Urban Enterprise Zone policies generally offer tax benefits and infrastructure incentives to attract investments and private companies into the zones. Urban Enterprise Zones are intended to encourage development in blighted neighborhoods through zone benefits for entrepreneurs and investors who launch businesses in the area.
